Afstuderen in FSE past prima in de mastertrack BPS. Alleen hebben we het nu niet over binnenklimaat maar over veiligheid bij een brandcalamiteit. Zeker als gevolg van de energietransitie en de vergrijzende gebouwpopulatie nemen de brandrisico's toe en daarmee de behoefte aan Fire Engineers ook!

Sprinkler as boundary condition for a stay-in-place concept

When building occupants are not able to evacuate in case of fire, a stay-in-place concept could be a robust alternative. However, the reliability of fire and smoke compartmentation is insufficient from a point of view of personale safety. A sprinkler protection wil decrease both the Rate of Heat Release and the smoke production and must be considered as a boundary condition for a stay-in-place concept (FSI Congress, 2022)
